ATTENTION last semester's Microbiology students: If you purchased your own lab coat for use in Microbiology, it is ready to be picked up in the Biology Lab. Please get them by this Wednesday or Mrs. Russell will assume you no longer want it back. This is for the Fall Microbiology students only.
Congratulations to the Hawks Wrestling Team for a 7th place finish at the William Blount Invitational on Saturday. The Hawks were led by Tim Vara, 2nd place, David Vaigneus, 2nd place, AJ Moore, 4th place, Devin McDonald, 4th place, and Jackson Beggs, 4th place.
Football workouts will be at 3:45 - 5:30, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Anyone interested in playing must attend off-season workouts.

And please remember, like every dance, tickets WILL NOT be sold at the door, so capitilize on getting tickets during your lunchtime. Also, if you wish to bring a guest from another school, you need to pick up a guest form in the office and have it signed by the administration. Bring this with you when you purchase your ticket.

Any student wishing to compete in Poetry Out Loud, a national poetry recitation competition, who is not already competing in their English classroom, should see a Librarian this week for more information about the competition.

All students: If you took an AP class during 1st Semester and want to take the AP Review class during einichment this semester, make sure you let Mrs. Collins know which review class you wish to be in. If you are currently enrolled in an AP class for this semester, you will automatically be enrolled in that AP Review class during enrichment unless you have told your AP teacher you do not wish to take the review class. Mrs. Collins will be in the cafeteria today and tomorrow during lunch to answer any further questions about enrichment. Enrichment begins on Tuesday, January 24th. On Saturday, we had 3 groups in competition at the CIPA Tennessee qualifier (for indopor percussion and winter guard) at Volunteer High School. Our newest guard unit, the Cedar Bluf Middle School guard, finished 3rd out of 6 units in the Prep (Middle School) division. The HVA Winter Guard finished 4th out of 10 units in the Scholastic AA/A competition, and the Indoor Percussion finished 3rd out of 8 units in the Percussion Scholastic A Division. Congratulations to all three groups for a strong start to the competitive season.

Calling all Idol Contestants! It is time to sign-up for the 2nd Annual CTE Goes Idol Contest. This year HVA's contest will be held in two stages. Preliminary judging will be held on Wednesday, February 8th, with the finals held before a live audience on Thursday evening, February 23rd. Sign-up forms can be obtained from any Business or CTE teacher. Our winner will compete in a live event in Market Square on May 4. Please sign-up today.

A Junior has lost a class rin somewhere between enrichment and 4th period on Tuesday afternoon. It has a light blue stone in it and on the sides it says 2013 and Alexander. The person to find this ring, please return it to the front office or Mr. Miller, and you will be rewarded.
